The Silver Taps appeared on National Television in a George Negus New Dimensions documentary 'Ties That Bind' in August 2003. The program explored the uniqueness and quintessential elements of their tap dancing troupe. That particular documentary inspired many seniors to take up dancing in one form or another and proved that 'you're never too old to give dance a go!'

Carole Metcalf formed the Silver Taps troupe in 2002, inspired by her love of tap dancing, and the friendship of 6 other like-minded senior tap dancers, who met at Jean Baker's tap dance school.
